So John Romita Jr, who has been penciling Marvel Comics since the late 70s (I think), has crossed the Rubicon and will now be working for DC Comics.

He is set to pencil the monthly Superman title, which will be written by Geoff Johns.

It's a big deal, DC made a lot of buzz out of it but I can't help but not care about it. It's been a while since I've seen anything exciting from JRJr at Marvel and the last I saw from him (AvX I think) was downright ugly.

So yeah, good for DC but I don't think it's going to hurt Marvel that much.

I really can't stand his art in modern books. Some of his stuff from the 80s is ok but I just don't like how it looks now. I'm glad he'll be over at DC but this will definitely put me off giving another Johns book a shot.

Romita's work on JMS's Spider-Man was pretty good. But after that it's all rubbish.
