JUSTICE LEAGUE #8
MANHATTAN PROJECTS #2
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #684
AVENGERS VS X-MEN #2 (OF 12)
WOLVERINE AND X-MEN #9
X-MEN #27

With it being AvX, expect a lot of X-books and Avengers books to ship often when an issue of AvX actually comes in. Plus, X-Men 27 is about 2 weeks late.

I just got caught up on X-Men (and Astonishing) and I'm almost tempted to start buying both since I'm pleasantly surprised at how well written they are. Both I feel are actually better than X-Factor which is something I never thought would happen.

X-Men is pretty good, but I really didn't like the Alternate worlds story in Astonishing. I didn't think it was that great. I was rather lost in Lui's first issue, as I feel it picked up from X-23 for a good part of it, and I wasn't reading that.

I thought the Alternate world story was pretty interesting and evidently a lot of fans did too since it's now the new X-Treme X-Men title coming out in the next couple of months.

Yeah that actually surprised me. It's another take on Exiles in a way, but it'll have a 616 mainstay on the team this go around.

I'm still on the edge of whether I want to pick it up or not. I tried the first issue of Age of Apocalypse but just couldn't get into, so after downloading the second issue first I dropped it automatically. I may do the same thing with X-Treme.

My shop finaly got a shipment of comics this week and it seems he was allocated issues of Manhattan Projects. So I didn't get issue 1. They guy say the books might be in the next shipment but I'm not holding my hopes up. Saucer Country was also missing. He should be able to get them. They won't be first printing but I don't care much. My shop is in a tight financial spot at the moment so I'm just glad he can still get the books.

Wait, so you bought 202 copies of The Shadow so you get could 2 uber-rare variants? Have you done that before? I'm just intrigued, never heard of anyone doing that. My retailer likely bought only 20 copies total of the issue, lol.

I have not. My retailer heavily discounted the books for me.

I only did it because they are actual sketch covers, as opposed to printed variants.

I do know people doing it for the Walking Dead 100 1:200 variant.

I know some retailers won't do it (god knows why) and others that will do it for 40% off. Just kind of depend.

The majority of 1:200 variants, even at 40% off the books would cost more for the books, than the variant would cost down the line.

I just really wanted these.

Midtown Comics has 4 of the 1:200 and they're selling it for $600 and 6 of the 1:150 selling for $300. Since they're authentic sketches, I'd definitely say it's worth it to buy bulk to get them. Even selling sets of the regular covers on eBay for 50% off you'll still make a "profit" on it. Are you planning to get it CGC'd since it's so rare and such an investment?

I may be picking up a copy of The Shadow. My retailer brought it up with another customer and I voiced my interest, so I may get the Cassady cover just to try it out. I've never been a big Shadow fan so I may just get the first issue and that's it.

On another topic, I'm tempted to get the title Reset (http://www.midtowncomics.com/store/dp.asp?PRID=1183317) because the premise sounds pretty awesome. Only problem is I definitely do not like the style of the artist, it's too cartoony for me. Anyone ever have this problem?

My copies cost about half that. $480.

Plus, I have to 200 copies to sell to try and take the sting out of that.

Even if I can sell 160 of them for $1, I'd be happy.
I'm going to speak to a local back issue guy about trying to sell some sets of all 4 covers for $10.

It's Buffy #8 that came out last week. Well, technically Buffy #9 did come out in digital form (big snafu on Dark Horse).
