Didn't even both reading his justifications for each writer. 5 Writers I could do with less work from for the most part, and rarely read their books as it is. Maybe it's a big April Fools Day joke, like the Top 5 best Comics from the last 5 years satire that Multiversity Comics did today too.

Well, let's say, all those writers (except Millar) have done some real quality work. But yeah, that list is rubbish.

I agree with Arn, except I wouldn't say it's rubbish, it's just personal preferences. As stated by the article writer, this is his list of personal top 5 amongst a lit of honorable mentions that all look pretty good.

I think Frank Miller and Mark Millar could easily make a top 20 of anyone's list.
Any list that doesn't include Garth Ennis in it's top 20 hasn't read Preacher or Punisher.
Bendis's Daredevil, Powers and Ultimate Spiderman all qualify him for any top 20 list.
Alan Moore's Watchmen, V for Vendetta, League of Extroardinary Gentlemen qualify him for any top 20 list.

The article writer clearly likes the good stuff when you add in his honourable mentions alongside his top 5.
I'm sure if we looked at each others top five we'd quabble over who has included whom and at what position.

Although I do agree with that, and he does clearly state it's his personal favorite top 5, Millar never belongs in that list.

Incidentally, what would your personal top 5 be?

The list isn't entirely rubbish, everyone on that list (except Millar) has produced some fantastic genre defining/changing work in their careers. Only person on that list who I'd remove is Millar. Millar has done some really entertaining work but it was never "epic". Civil War fell flat, Ultimates was great but never phenominal.

Moore pretty much always makes the cut and I will continue to give him his due but his stories have never worked for me. I'm sure I've felt the his work through other writers who were inspired by him, but it was never firsthand.

Miller was great until the new millenium. After 2000 he lost his marbles...professionally.

I don't have a top 5 list yet. I need to throw my favorite writers, as well as other prolific writers who I don't read, together and then whittle it down to five. Soooo:
