I haven't seen this thread up in a few weeks. Shame on you Tragic. I finally picked up 4 weeks worth of books this past week so here are my picks for books of the week for the past few weeks.

This week:

Zatanna #8 - I haven't had much exposure to Cliff Chiang art but I find I'm liking it. The idea of Zee in therapy is also kind of funny given that she is a magician. The story itself expands on a small, seemingly, throwaway line from Dini's run in Detective Comics that dealt with the second Ventriloquist: Zatanna's aversion to Ventriloquist dolls

Previous weeks:

Buffy TVS #39: Angel killed Giles. Boo! The whole storyline seemed to be leading up this one moment. I like Whedon's work most of the time but I feel like I now know what Whedon's writing style is. He generally has good ideas but all his plans hinge on "a great betrayal by someone close". It seems that most of his stories don't pack quite as big of a punch if someone close to Buffy doesn't try and shaft her. Whedon needs to get beyond this handicap if he wants improve his stories

Star Wars: Legacy War #1 I mainly liked due to sheer excitement at seeing how SW: Legacy saga ends...or doesn't

I'd like to actually state it was Twilight, not Angel (or Angelus), that killed Giles. BIG difference

I hadn't made the thread because I didn't pick up books the last few weeks until last Friday, and then this Wednesday again but with the holiday's I've been strapped a bit. I'll try to get up my thoughts from the last 4 weeks either Sunday or Monday.

Not really. It's just like when Angel became Angelus and committed all those acts of evil, torturing Giles, killing Jenny Calender, starting the Apocalypse. Sure it was Angelus who did it, but it was Angel who ultimately had to atone for it and bear the blame & shame of hurting them.

Just as it was evil souless Spike who tried to rape Buffy but it was good Spike who had to deal with the aftermath of it, as well as everything else he'd done.

It's Whedon's thing to make people close to Buffy try and give her the shaft under the influence of another a demon or whatever.

Aaaahhhh, Edbert and his love for all-things Twilight...

I have to agree with Wally on this one. Angel did it, regardless of who possessed him/who he claimed to be at the time. Like when Willow became Evil, Anya became a demon again, or when Oz may've killed someone as the Wolf. They're his actions, and he'll be paying for this one for a very very long time.

Is anyone enjoying the end of Season 8 of Buffy?

Maybe it is because I has been so long since it started, but I am feeling very "checked out".

I have a difficult time telling everyone apart, and the end has been so far out of left field, I'm not really sure what to make of it.

I do feel the end has really come out of nowhere at times. I love having so many big characters all back together but yeah I'm not sure how this is all the 'big plan all along' just yet. And you're right, it could be the fact that it started over 3 years ago but I'm not sure. It makes me wonder how often these things have changed over the course of the series.

I think the only constant has been the green fiery lion appearing, and now it's supposedly the real "Twilight" but who knows.

As for telling people apart, the only one I have trouble with is Andrew really. I like Jeanty's art and he usually makes the main cast distinguishable but it's usually Andrew who gets lost in the crowd on me.

I'm hoping it pulls together in the finale, but I feel like he has too much to explain for one issue alone.
