It seems to be Big DC News day today as the company announces that the Wildstorm Imprint will end in December according to Co-Publishers Lee and Didio via the DCU Source Blog (which is currently under heavy heavy traffic and not working for me it seems).

But the characters and stories won't be ending. They'll just be published under the DC Comics imprint from here on out.

With the announcement they also confirmed that Zuda comics are canceled as well.

This seems to make some sense to me, though it happens right when I get into a few Wildstorm titles and look to find more.

I believe the Wildstorm Universe is considered to be one of the 52 Earths in the Multiverse as it is, though I'm not sure which, so doing this makes a tiny bit of sense, as they'll just say it's this Earth and not 'New Earth' but it's still a bit upsetting to see an entire Imprint be left behind.

And with the earlier DC news about Publication being based in NYC, and Wildstorm moving to the DC Banner, it makes me wonder what'll come of the Wildstorm offices, which I'm fairly certain are in California. Seems like a lot of shuffling between various DC outposts is about to go down in the coming months.

Damn, that's strange. I'm sorry to see it go as I was very fond of some characters (Grifter!!).
But the sales on the titles were abysmal and the endless reboots of the whole universe never worked (most noticeably, the inclusion of Grant Morrison as a major creative force was a complete failure).

Interesting news. :monocle: Thanks, Ed! Think I'll pass it along to a few folks.

Goodbye Wildstorm!

EDIT

I have had all 4 volumes of Sleeper for well over a year and still haven't cracked them open yet.
