Sounds nice, and Supernatural is a great show. I didn't know they'd stick a 6th season to it, though.

But, Sandman!

They'd better do it right.

I just don't know about making a TV show about Sandman. To me, that's sacred. You don't mess with it. Kinda like how the LotR fans felt when talk of making the movie started, they weren't the happiest group until they saw it.

Yeah I don't agree with that. I don't consider any work of art to be so sacred that it can't be adapted for another form of media. Think of what it would it be like to see Sandman come to life off the pages and hear Morpheus speak and move.

I think a television format for Sandman is perfect. There could be 2-3 part epidoes that deal with one story. The only real obstacle I see with Sandman is that many people won't understand what exactly is going on. Fantasy is not a very popular genre within U.S. Sure there have been some sucesses but those were few and far between and were loaded with action. Sandman is more methodical, philisophical and introspective with not a whole lot of action and U.S. audiences have very short attention spans. If something isn't exploding or someone isn't dying every so often they tend to lose interest so I guess we'll see how this goes.

I'll be honest, I've never read any of the series, but before reading the article I assumed it would be along the lines of an HBO/Showtime series, but Wally brings up a good point. From what I know of the series, it may not at all be up the alley of most of the American Viewing Public, which makes me wonder what they'd do, or if it wouldn't be something more along the lines of a BBC possible production or something along those lines.
