Norwalk, CT, May 14, 2009: New York Comic Con (NYCC) today announced it will host a special gathering for NYC-area comic fans, creators, and professionals on Wednesday, May 20th from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM at Dave and Busters in Times Square (234 West 42nd Street). This inaugural New York Comic Con Happy Hour will serve as a space for the NYC comic community to chat, network, and interact with the New York Comic Con team. The NYCC Happy Hour is free and open to the public.

The New York Comic Con will be holding happy hours at Dave and Busters and all summer long, with upcoming events June 10th, July 15th, and August 19th. For more information, visit NYCC's official website (http://www.newyorkcomiccon.com) and official blog (http://www.mediumatlarge.net).

This is so Awesome!!!

As the article states, the NYCC Happy Hour is being held at Dave & Busters in Manhattan. For those of you not familiar with Dave & Busters, during the BX NYCC meet up, Dave & Busters was hosting a pre-con party the night before the day 1 of the Con. Meek, Wulf, XIII, Malorie, Stocky and I attended the party and got a chance to meet some creators and actors (Joe Q, Jimmy Palmiotti, Aaron Douglas and a few others I can't remember).

Its also where XIII got drunk and commited numerous acts of hilarity such as: making fun of a guy dressed in a Spirit costume, loudly booing the guy doing the raffle, and giggling uncontrollably every so often and probably a few more things.

I look forward to these events, starting with the one this Wednesday!

Kind of nice to get these emails, but how am I, let alone people in the States who don't live in NY, supposed to go to these things?

Did you get the email about being invited to some special 'feedback' lunch?

You get to enjoy them, vicariously, through me :RedFinger:

I will certainley try to make the best of it. Here's hoping some creators who weren't at NYCC will be there (but I doubt it). It might even tempt me to dig out some books and maybe get them signed.

I am annoyed that they announced this at, what seems like, the last minute.

They're quite shit aren't they? Be sure to mention that to Lance Fenderbender if you meet him.

I got that one. And I'm with you, it's kinda frustrating knowing about all those events when it's clear you don't have a chance to make it there.:finger:
