That is somewhat tempting, since I have begun replacing the trade series I enjoy with actual issues.

We're talking about 1200 pages for just $40. Did you really except high quality glossy paper?

I prefer reading the floppies.
Why?

I guess not, but having to read the book like it's a library's most sacred text was a bit annoying.

And god forbid it gets a little wet. It'll fall apart.

You have no idea how fucking pissed I was when I got them. All the tie-ins for HoM were pure shit. There were like 5 or 6 supporting paperbacks for HoM (X-Men, UXM, Spider-man etc...)and the stories were barely relevant to the main story going on, not mention the sucky art. Y'know what, when I go home, I'm gonna calculate how much money I blew on those pieces of shit.

But you can't say I make the same mistakes twice. Because HoM burned me so bad, I only got the main Civil War paperback and didn't bother picking up the tie-ins :D

Right on. I only got HoM in trade, and then nabbed the Son of M trade as well since it ended up leading into the Inhumans Silent War. With Civil War I only got the main trade as well. I haven't actually read a Marvel event in a few years.

Final Crisis though... lol I bought every damn tie in. But the sad part was those things were BETTER than the main event.

Just seems weird and opposite to logic. Trades are tougher, cheaper, and you can put them on a bookshelf without worrying about bags/boards and how you're going to find the one you want later.

But then, I prefer reading digital copies so that's even worse I guess. Huge! Bright! Don't have to worry about getting food on them!

Maybe I am just nostalgic?

I'm with you. I still grab trades when I know finding back issues is hard or I just want to read that story and that story alone, but I'll never stop getting singles.

I didn't have any problem with that. The thing that made it annoying to read was the strain on my wrist as I was holding the book. But that too, was expected.
