New York Comic Con tickets on sale 5/13/2015 12:00pm EST

Gonna try to get tickets but not sure I'll succeed. Last year tickets sold out in under an hour.

Last year Reed Pop released tickets over the course of 2 months I think.

It doesn't look like they're doing that this year. We shall see. On the plus side, I've got my 2 day pass for Special Edition NYC.

I wish tickets sold out in a day; at least I'd have a fighting chance if they did. Tickets sell out in under an hour.

Are you guys thinking that any future BX Con might take place at Special Edition as NYCC is too difficult to get in for everyone?

Sorry, I really want to do it again but there are several factors working against this happening for me :

- The falldown of the Euro, making New York suddenly much more expensive.
- We need a bigger flat here. It means selling our current one and buy a new one. So we have to put a lot of money aside as selling our own won't be enough to cover the price of the kind of apparment we need (at least 3 bedrooms)
- Where do I put the kids while we're away?

So I don't see myself making it to a Comiccon in the US in at least the next 3 years.

Or wait until Stocky makes enough money to buy a fancy Stockwell Manor in Chelsea with many bedrooms and golden plated bathrooms.

Ticket buying blew:

I clicked on the Buy Tickets button promptly at 12:00pm and immediately got blank error page. After reloading the page half a dozen times, I finally got dumped into the virtual queue. I sat there for an hour or so. Throughout my wait, the page crashed about 8 times. The Reed FAQ stated that if you refresh your page or get an error page, you won't lose your spot in the virtual queue. However, they made no mention of crashing pages or pages timing out - which leads me to believe that the reason my wait was so long was because each time my page crashes or timed out, I was sent to the back of the line.

At the 50 minute mark, I had all but lost hope for getting a 4 day pass when I was magically taken to the actual ticket buying page for about 3 seconds before throwing me back in the queue.

Finally 10 minutes later, I was taken to the ticket page again where I started making my purchases. I shocked to see VIP, 4 & 3 day passes were still in stock. I purchased 4 tix; for myself, my friend and my brother. Then the page froze. The page would freeze and unfreeze sporadically and then either shoot me to the credit card payment page or back to the ticket selection page. It was so harrowing. I kept thinking I'm double paying or paying for nothing at all. At one point the website just shut down altogether which nearly drove me to tears.

I logged back in, expecting the worst but was taken to the check out page - which mercifully accepted my CC info. All said and done. That experience was terrible, awful, annoying and nerve racking. I hated it. And you just know, next year will be worse.

You were brave, Wally, very brave. They did everything they could to break you but you stood strong. Give them hell when you get there.

Also, I'm not going through this kind of stuff. If we ever do this again, Cameron is on ticket duty.

The article says it all. Regardless of scalpers and a slow site, the sheer demand for tickets outstrips the supply for them which will continually make getting tickets more and more difficult
