Anybody ever done this before?
A creator presents a project, says how much he would need to get the project printed and people are free to pledge money. Depending on how much you pledge, you get rewards.

I'm doing it for the first time with this : http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/139 ... as-vol-2-0

I love the first volume of that book. What really sold me is that you pay through Amazon, which I trust.

I pledge $35 which will get me a signed and sketched copy of the book. It's not a big amount but it'll still help.

And Wolf, if you pledge $500, you get to be on one page of the book and then he gives you the original page! :D

I've done it many times for Star Wars Miniatures things (small donations of like $15-30 for battle maps and similar things). The biggest one I've donated for is do help support an animated production of a short story by Neil Gaiman. With my donation, I'll get listed in the movie as a "thanks" as well as get a copy of the dvd (which is only limited produced).

I haven't had any problems yet and they don't take the money until the project has met the minimum required money. Not sure if anything I've ever backed didn't hit that minimum money, which is nice.
