Bleeding Cool News - Special Correspondant Mr. Wallstreet

Post by Mr Wallstreet »

Yesterday Meek texted me that Rich Johnston of Bleeding Cool News was looking for someone to go to the Midtown Comics in Times Square on Tuesday December 21, on behalf of Bleeding Cool News, and report to them (Bleeding Cool) what Marvel's big announcement was for the month of April along with photos if possible.

Originally I was really hesitant to do it but after some persuasion I decided to go for it. I then e-mailed Rich Johnston and let him know I wouldn't mind sitting in Bleeding Cool News at the Marvel Midtown announcement if they'd have me. I've corresponded w/ Johnston twice and so far it seems like a yes but there is still some confirmation left on the part of Bleeding Cool News.

The timing also works out great b/c I'm 10 minutes from Midtown and since its the week leading up to the Christmas holidays, my office will be a ghost town, so I can take an early lunch and come back a lil bit late.

Also, Johnston announced that anyone representing BCN would be given "star" treatment, so I assume it means early access to Midtown to get a prime seat/location & set up equipment if they have any.

I'm pretty excited about this but we'll see what happens.

That's awesome man! Hope you get to the spot and get to hang out and report news! Looks like that could be an easy lead in for you too! Let us know if you get picked to do it so we can all make sure to tune in to catch your updates as they happen!

Thanks guys. Although this seems pretty straight forward I hope nothing goes wrong.

<fingers crossed>

Thanks Mr. T but I don't expect this to be more than a one time thing. It just so happened to work out that Midtown Comics is close to where I work and my office will be pretty dead this week so theres little chance of an emergency cropping up in addition to my bosses being out this week.

I don't think I'd be able to constantly leave work to report comic news (though it would be fun).

If only you had stayed with me at the pre-Con party. I got a hug from Rich Johnston.

Stocky, BX will be updated immediately. Rich can just wait his turn, after all, its not like he's paying me :D

XIII, you may have gotten a hug from Rich but what I am doing for him will make him indebted to me. Forever.

Way to go! Though I must admit, I didn't pay attention to the news itself as I was focused looking at where you were and trying to figure out what all you were doing haha! Can't wait to see the pics!

Nice little write up Wally!

What perks did you get for repping Bleeding Cool? Free coffee? Snacks? Hookers?

They were giving out random comics you could get signed by Joe Q, Alonso & Brevoort and a lithograph.

I snagged a litho and got it signed by all three and 2 comics.

Crap, now that I've seen some of the images and thought about it, I may get some of the issues. I really dig the X-Men teaser with Cyclops dressed up as Magneto...

Also, what issues/litho did you get signed? AKA Pics or it didn't happen ;)

The comics were very random but I'll post that, along with the Litho tomorrow.

The summer event sounds interesting but I'll pass on it just the same.
