After years of hiatus in the comic book form, Robert E. Howard’s Conan returned in 2004 thanks to Dark Horse Comics. In the first Dark Horse series Conan, the title covered the man’s earliest years on the battlefield. After fifty issues, it gave way to the current series Conan the Cimmerian, which documents an older Conan, operating as a mercenary in the savage world. But life can only last for so long, and with October’s twenty-fifth issue of Conan the Cimmerian the series will conclude, giving way for future series about his years as a pirate and even one about “King Conanâ€.

Darkhorse loves relaunching their titles
Conan, like Buffy & Star Wars is ending the run on Conan the Barbarian and like the aforementioned titles will be relaunched. I just don't see the reason why they keep relaunching it.
I understand that for Conan, and to a lesser extent Buffy & SW: Legacy, they are breaking up the signifigant portions of his life and want those portions to be wholly seperate but it seems silly to keep relaunching it whenever they want to tell stories about different parts of his life.
Just keep a running number on the title and go on a bit of a hiatus if you have to, but stop relaunching the title.
Conan The Barbarian Ending (Wtf?)

All of the companies are bad in this category to be honest. They always set out and relaunch a title, only to 'renumber' it back to the original after about 2 years when it comes to the big Two. Other times they just say it's always in 'volumes' and they'll always just relaunch it with a new team or new chapter as they keep testing the waters for a book, or just going until the steam is gone on one particular take, which seems to be the case with Conan, shifting now to a different interpretation of the character in each volume.
I really hate it when some go from an ongoing to cancelled, to a new mini a few months later just because sales had dropped a little, but they still want to try. I appreciate the effort, but quit teasing out characters just because you think they may or may not sell. Marvel did it for about 2-3 years lately with the Inhumans post M-Day and I finally just stopped with it because I wasn't going to get an ongoing book featuring them.
I will say (of course) in defense of Buffy, I think Dark Horse is trying to mirror the concept of Seasons as a show would, so when they relaunch it it's kind of a new title/season and starting over, from a new season episode 1 so to speak. I respect that yes, but don't care for the half a year or so break in between them. I'd rather it simply go right into the next, whether it's a new issue or whatever the following month.
