The only problem is for most (if not all, not sure) retailers, sending Marvel the 50 issues means they're sending them $100 of profit. So they'd have to sell the special issue for a minimum of $100 to break even, which means people probably won't purchase it...

And here's the book that Marvel will send retailers if they go through with this:

Yea. The thing I've noticed, and Cam maybe you have too working in a shop, is that the majority of Deadpool fans tend to be around 13-18. High School kids who think he's so cool because he shoots a ton of people and "is just so fucking funny" as I recall one slightly annoying Deadpool fanatic putting it while he was with a friend in our shop. I know a few adults who are huge Deadpool fans as well, but he tends to go towards a teenage audience from what I gathered.

And as Chris said, retailers have to ship out about $100 of possible product for this one book. So if they want to break even, they need to sell it for $100, or more. Now, if the average Deadpool fan is going to try to get that one book, and they're in that age range, they won't buy the book for a $100. Hell, I can't think of a single person who would buy a modern book for $100 in the least that isn't signed by a high profile writer or artist or both.

So the best they can do is sell it for around $7-15. Maybe 20 or so in a shop, and higher if they put it online. But your average Deadpool fan isn't going to pay out the ass for that if they're on a younger budget, even though they're the most likely person to buy the book.

Also, why the hell is Deadpool on a varient for Seige anyways? Does he have a huge role in the book? Probably not. It's just the companies throwing unrelated characters on the book to make a splash and sell extra copies, they way they've been doing with him for the last year or so like they did with the stupid Zombie thing for a few years.

I just don't get it.

Did anyone notice the feet on that cover?

part of the problem with that cover too, is it has to be aimed towards teenagers, what adult in their right mind would want it, and what teenager can afford what it would cost?

But Tragic pointed that out already. The only modern book I would spend 100+ on is the 1st print Obama Savage Dragon book, Walking Dead 1 and Ult. Spidey 1 White Variant.

God, that really is a hideous cover.

I didn't even notice the feet till you said that. It's truly terrible. I'd have expected major quality for something like this, but instead this is what they do.

You'd figure they would have made a complete cover.

it seems like this whole thing was thrown together half-assed last minute. You'd figure with any planning they would have been able to put together a completed cover.

One dick move to highlight another dick move. No one company should be putting their dicks out on display quite like this.

They're making Deadpool a part of everything. For fuck's sake, he's gonna be in Fall of the Hulks! Has he ever really interacted with Hulk before? Not really. Suddenly he's a part of that series? Fucking A, I liked Deadpool before he was cool ;) It's like what Marvel does with Wolverine, they over saturate the market until everyone is sick to death of him. We've got what, 3 Deadpool titles right now? Soon to be 4? So annoying =o/
