Multiversity Comics is a blog that reviews, details, and gushes over comics, and has taken it upon itself to detail the best the last decade has offered as we approach 2010.
They're listing the Top Ten in a number of categories, including Heroes, Villains, Single Issues, and more, putting the list up on a daily basis. They only go into detail on the selection for the top 3 choices, but it's still been a fun read. Though, most would agree that I'm enjoying it because it's openly stroking Johns' ego a number of times. But it's still a great starter to begin reflecting on the last 10 years of comics.

His writing is getting worse. Flash: Rebirth has been boring. GL is good, but Blackest Night also has yet to completely "wow" me.
Very good mind you, nothing I feel the need to re-read.
His thing of wanting to bring comics back to what they were when he was a good, and using all the same characters is somewhat annoying.

Geoff John = Brian Michael Bendis of the DCU
I'm not sick of Johns just yet but I do feel he is a bit overrated. This is not to say I hate his work or that I think he sucks, on the contrary I enjoy a lot of Johns ideas and stories.
My experience with Johns is that he writes better than average stories; they're very enjoyable but they don't blow you away. What Johns excels at, in my opinion, is having fantastic moments within his stories; moments that make you go "wow" or "wtf". i.e. Flash Rebirth has been average in my opinion but the scene where Barry rescued Max Mercury from the Speed Force was balls to the walls amazing (for me), and I didn't know shit about Max or the Flash history but it was a moment that really made me want to learn more about them.
Similarly in GL Rebirth, the story was great read but there were a few key moments that made it simply amazing. For me, they were the scenes where Hal, the Spectre and Parallax were all battling for Hal's soul until the Spectre rose out and split off Hal from Parallax, then the following scene were Ganthet tells Hal to follow his light.
I could go on about other moments in the Sinestro Corp. Wars and some of his recent JSA, but you get my point.
I haven't read BL yet but I'm confident when I do read it, I'll find other nuggets of gold in there.
