Geoff Johns co-writing SHAZAM film; Tragic blows his wad

Post by Mr Wallstreet »

Now Johns' pen will strike a different kind of lightning as the co-writer for a live action "Shazam!" movie, THR reports. The movie has had several false starts since being brought to the forefront, with seven writers so far. Johns and his co-writer Billy Birch are starting fresh with the superhero known as Captain Marvel.

No target release date was included in the announcement, so it is unknown whether the 2011 target is still valid.

This sounds great, but its too early for me to get excited over it. I think if the Green Lantern film starts its production on time and moves along smoothly, there will be more of a concentrated effort to get the Captain Marvel film off the ground.

With Johns now co-writing both the Flash and Shazam films, I just hope it doesn't interfere with his regular DC work. But maybe this will lead to him being the one to relaunch the Marvel family in the books as well.

Careful boys. It could also mean Johns is paving his way into real media work. :D

He's writing another Smallville episode as well, this time introducing the JSA.

Better cherish all the work he's surprisingly still doing for funny books then. :D

Pretty soon all television shows and movies written by Johns will reflect the 80s - the greatest time period in history (according to Johns)!

I doubt a few extra projects will hinder Johns from re-hashing the 80s in every single title he writes ;)
