Football season 11/12

Post by MGM »

So.

Feyenoord greatest talent, Wijnaldum, went to PSV. Good for him, though. And next year he would've walked away for free. This way he at least gets Feyenoord 5 million.

Feyenoord's second real talent, Fer, wants to go to Twente. Due to a cave in of the roof of their stadium, that'll probably won't fly. But thankfully one of our 'fans' actually physically threatened him. Moron.

And then the coach yesterday took off after pretty much all players told him they'd lost faith in him. Apart from the fact that he didn't do well as a coach, it's not really the best timing. On the other hand, better now than after 4 or 5 games.

Any news on the Lyon front?

The news are that we are letting some players go and not buying anyone at the moment because we are "going to trust our youth".
Also, Puel was fired after 3 title-less season and the new coach is Rémy Garde. Used to play for Lyon and Arsenal in the 90s, then was deputy coach under Houiller at Lyon and was last year the head of the Academy.
They seem to think he will go the same way as Pep Guardiola just because, like Pep at Barça, he learned football in Lyon and did most of his carreer there.
All I see so far is a weakened team and an unexperienced coach. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get past stage round in the CL for the first time in 10 years.
Also, Gourcuff is already injured.

The real big news in France so is the Qatari royal familly buying out PSG and bringing in Leonardo as manager. And big petro-dollars to buy famous players (though this has yet to happen).

For fuck's sake, apparently Koeman will be the new coach. The guy will be fucking expensive and hasn't done well anywhere.

The goodbye-night of Van der Sar is tonight. Quite a few big players present!

Basically Ajax '95, Holland '98, present Ajax and a dreamteam with... well, not sure with who. But prety much half present Manchester. Too bad I was too late to see Overmars do some, apparently, quite nice things.

Ajax 95 >> such a great team!! Overmars for the win!!

About the WC, it means we'll have to go through the barrage round after the stage rounds...

Ah, the barrage should be easy for you guys. Anyway, no way Spain gets the title in 2012.

Ajax 95 vs Netherlands 98? How did they do that? Did they cut each player in half so they could play on both team? ;)

So anyway, first day of the French League today and the leader is... LYON!
Paris lost at home its first game against Lorient. Hahaha!

First day here and Feyenoord is on top. Granted, it was the only match. :D

Not sure how they did that match, I was wondering the same thing. Best Holland there ever was.

Oh, and just so you know: either Holland or Germany will win the EC 2012. I'm putting my money on us.

No, honestly. Who's gonna be a contender except for Germany and Holland? Possibly Spain, but there's no way they'll win 3 chamionships in a row. And other than that, there's nothing.

Why is there no way for them to win 3 championship in a row?

Simply not gonna happen. Hunger for success has reached its peak a while ago. This squad will nowhere be near as good in two years as people say they are now (and actually aren't either).

Well you forget the fact that Holland is the team that could but never wins in the end.
Also, have you found a striker, yet?
If it's between Germany and you, I'd bet money on the Germans.

'88.

(And yes, no '74, '78, '98, 2000 and 2008.)

Van Persie, but he's no real striker. Huntelaar, but he's not good enough. Van Persie can still grow, though.
