Yesterday my dad passed away.

You wouldn't have known him, but I thought I should share this information with you, my dear friends.

My mum was out on a day trip with friends. When she returned around 17:45, she found him, where he usually is, in the office. It appears he suffered a stroke around 15:00.

Immediate family have been very good. They joined my mum at the house before I was able to get here from the flat. I am staying with her for a few days. She and I are coping with the situation, I guess, as good as can be expected.

Given that he drank and smoked excessively, it was expected that he was shortening his life, but of course we were all shocked, surprised and saddened regardless. The suddenness of it all catches you unaware.

I'm sure I could ramble on with my thoughts, but I'll leave it there for now.

Andy, I am truly sorry for your loss. My deepest condolences. I know it's cliche but if you need anything, just say the word.

He hasn't responded all day. Does this mean he's left the Board also?

And the pound is currently worth a lot less than it was two days ago. :(

All the key arguments from the Leave campaign were bullshit.

There is no plan for what happens now.

The £350 million given to Brussels each week was not £350, it was around £115 and in any case the NHS will not be getting it like the Leave campaign prominently campaigned for.

Immigration probably won't go down.

The pound is worth less.
Interest rates will likely increase.
House value will drop...so actually that's good for the young, except they won't be able to afford a mortgage.

The thing is, parliament still have to pass a bill, which means parliament will have to vote on whether to leave the EU. The referendum is not a law. A passed bill through parliament is law.
Who knows what will happen now?

It was badly thought out by Prime Minister Cameron to have a referendum on something only the far right wanted a referendum on. It's also quite bad that a simple majority was the measure by which a nation decides to leave the EU. Even Nigel Farage wanted there to be a 60% majority if the remain camp won.

We'll just have to see what happens.

What is your opinion of Nigel Farage and his cohort Boris Johnson? Farage's address to the EU was outrageously rude *and* arrogant. He seems to be taking the Donald Trump approach to speaking to his peers.

He's a vile, stupid bigot, or a vile, self-serving bigot.

I think I worry more that he's just stupid.

Ironically, the less well off who follow him, don't realise he's not on their side. He's all for privatising the NHS and americanising our healthcare.

Unfortunately the Donald Trump approach seems to work. Makes me think that timing is everything. I reckon if Sarah Palin was running for the first time this year, then she'd be in with a chance much like Trump.
