Stockwell's Manor

Post by Stocky Boy »

It's Sunday evening in the UK right now. I should get to bed soon, but I don't want to.

I wonder. Will this feeling of, "I want more weekend", just before retiring to get some sleep for Monday, ever stop until I die?

If I didn't have to work anymore, and was financially stable, I'm not sure it would stop. The rest of society would still function on the working calendar and recognise Sunday evening as the end of one week and Monday the dreaded beginning of a new struggle until Friday evening. My week may never have a start and finish, but everyone else's would and I wouldn't be able to escape their reality, since it would affect mine.

I feel like I must be talking like JCVD right now. "Ils ne sont pas, aware". :p

I think you'll have this feeling until you die.

Sign. It doesn't.
I have reading week this week, and even now I feel like it's the end of the weekend.

I have no clear job or direction and life and if it wasn't for Garbage Day being Sunday night, I'd probably never know what day it is. I can't really complain about being an irresponsible bum day in and day out, but there is no real sense of personal satisfaction or achievement when you technically don't have to wear pants or underwear for a month. We all know for Stocky the Achievements Never Cease, so clearly he needs the boundaries of Monday and Friday to maintain his lifestyle. ^_^

It is the Canadian equivalent of Spring Break. We call it Reading Week (I assume) because we have a week to catch up on our reading/homework.

At least, that's the plan

We have an extra week in the spring semester than the winter semester, so when we have a 4 day week (MOnday is a national holiday) they give us a week off.

When I finish work, I often start humming the Flintstone theme. ;)

I usually walk out of the office singing "When the working day is done, girls just wanna have fun". Thank you Homer Simpson! ;D

This is bullshit, not working is in fact freedom from that depressing feeling of not having enough time for yourself. I'm hoping that only working a little bit will save me from it with my next job.

I still wonder what financial security feels like though hehe. Currently not paying any rent or bills (I want to! I ask about it regularly!) so I have the sweet illusion of financial security. Even that feels pretty good.

Stocky, Milligan could be our "in" with the comic creators; even moreso than XIII's stalking of Jason Aaron. I think you need to stop being selfish and look at the bigger picture.

You need to take one for the team :D
