Hmm, well, not today but some days ago I got :

The complete Essex County HC by Jeff Lemire.
So many people vouching for this one from the SA guys to Darwyn Cooke. I don't know what to expect.

Doctor 13 TPB by Azz and Chiang.
This one I bought without planning. My LCS had an extra copy (very surprisingly, as they never get extra copies of TPBs) and I decided to pick it up, on the strength of the creative team. I don't have a clue what it's gonna be about.

There's usually a load of trades I get from Amazon that I forget to mention, since they're not recent to the week I bought them in.

Also, can't be bothered to post them in the All Media thread. I kind of feel that's the thread for DVD and music purchases.

Anyway's, very recently I've bought:

King City vol 1 - Brandon Graham
Point Blank - Ed Brubacker
Sleeper Season 1 - Ed Brubacker
Essex County Club - Jeff Lemire
Loads of Green Lantern trades that are preludes to Blackest Night
The Surrogates vol 1 - Robert Venditti
Batman Year 100 - Paul Pope
The Eternal Smile: Three Stories - Derek Kirk Kim, Gene Luen Yang
Pluto vol 1 - Urasawa, Tezuka (manga)

Sleeper is frigging awesome!
I actually remember reading a bit of Point Blank from Arn's comic collection, when I first met him in France. Point Blank, for those of you who don't know, is the prelude to Sleeper. To mention the main plot to Sleeper actually spoils the ending of Point Blank, so I won't feed any more information. If you like Criminal, you'll fucking love Sleeper.
From the looks of it, Season 1 is a new reprint-edition-collection thing, since Season 2 won't be out until next month.

The last GL thing I've read was the Red Lantern arc. GL's pretty enjoyable. Bit hackneyed, but for what it is it's good value entertainment. I havne't bought the mini-series/one-shot collection called Tales from the Sinestro Corps. I've bought everything else starting with the No Fear trade. At some point I may buy Tales from the Sinestro Corps.

I got Essex County off of Arn's recommendation/previous post about it.

I've read Doctor 13. It's quite enjoyable. You wouldn't really think it was written by Azz, if you didn't know. I love Cliff Chiang's art. I saw someone get this signed by Cliff at NYCC09. When I saw that I wished I brought my copy too. I wonder how many people get this signed by Azz.

Sleeper! I brought that entire run in trade paperback maybe 1 1/2 years and I've still only read the first volume. I brought that on CountD's reccomendation, and I really, really should to finish that damn series.

EDIT:

Brought recently Scalped vol 4: Gravel In Your Gut and The Walking Dead vol the latest. Probably read those over the weekend.

I need to check whether the latest volume of Scalped I've got is the one you mention.

I have no idea what it was. I went to go post something on his wall after NYCC and the new board went up and I couldn't, tried adding him again and nadda.

Funny you say that, after adding the Mafia Wars application on Facebook, I noticed he must have removed me from his friends. I've sent off a friends request. No response.

I have no idea what I've done. Although, sympathetically, I think I can imagine a few reasons why he may feel raw about me.

Me too, none of them are good ones though, really, especially when taken into account his leaving here.

Goddamn it, I'm out and about to set things right. I'm still up for one last NYCC and I want us all to be there. With Mitch and his fishnets as the icing on the cake.
