American Comic Book Chronicles: the 1990s

Post by XIII »

Picked up this book on a recommendation at another board.

It's a recap of all that happened in the comics industry in the 90s, year by year. They've been doing these books for every decade starting with the 40s but this volume is the first one I got cause obviously, the 90s is when I started reading comics.

The book is really well produced, oversized hardcover, glossy paper. And the analysis for each year is really good and range from DC / Marvel / Image to what was happening with small publishers.

I'm up to 1995 and it's amazing to read how the industry dug its own grave.

I wanted to buy the 1980s volume but it's out of print :( I'm really hoping they'll do 2000s

Anyway, you should give it a try.

This looks interesting. I might get it. The 80's one is sold out in Holland as well. :(

I've looked on Amazon, Book Depo, Ebay. Can't find it anywhere at an affordable price. Two Morrows is selling digital copies for 15$ but that's a book I want to have for real.

Well, if one of you finds the 80s book at a fair price, let me know.

I must say, I'm not sure I'd even be interested in 70s. But 80s, definitely.
