DC TV Universe

Arrow, Flash, Supergirl & Legends of Tomorrow are killing it. Of these shows the only one I haven't seen is Legends but given that the same creators are behind it, I'm sure it'll be great. These shows aren't pretending to be something serious and heady. They're fun comic book shows for comic book fa...

Re: Star Wars: a father's question

I didn't see Star Wars until I was 16 and I watched the series out of order. I saw Return of the Jedi first, then SW, then I gave up and then a year later I watched the trilogy in the correct order.

Re: Star Wars: a father's question

It depends. If you feel Simon will get scared, you might want to wait another year or so until he can handle a few of the more gruesome bits. Don't try or force it. Most of the movie is bright lights and cool fights but sometimes the one or two scary images tend to get burned into your brain when yo...

Frank Cho / Milo Manara controversy

We’ve discussed sexualization and depiction of female characters in comics on and off for a while and I wanted to see if anyone’s feelings had changed or remained the same. Frank Cho stepped into controversy a while ago when he began making spoofs of the infamous Spider-woman cover. A lot of the cri...

Re: Punisher question

With Magneto I feel like you can come up with a reason using his magnetic powers to explain why he is aging at far slower rate and still keep his origin tied to World War 2 & the Holocaust. Same with Captain America; his super soldier serum will keep him young and healthy indefinitely. With Castle, ...

I'll agree with you the on the political angle; it may not have been the strongest but it set Mariah up as the new force in Harlem.

Re: Luke Cage

I enjoyed Luke Cage a lot. It had a completely different feel and tone than DD & JJ. It may feel like a cop out but I enjoyed all 3 shows about the same. That's not to say all 3 were perfect but they were each dealing with a wholly different storylines. A fair amount of DD Focused on Matt's religiou...

New York Comic Con 2016

This year I was unable to get regular attendee tickets because NYCC finally got too big for its breeches, however, my friend who is independently publishing his own comic offered to get me in using his own exhibitor badge. So I'll be working his table in the morning and have the remainder of the day...

Recently, I found that my writing skills have diminished somewhat drastically. Obviously I can still form sentences and write intelligently and compose e-mails professionally but when trying to express something creative or otherwise, I often find myself stumped for a good long while before I can mu...

Re: Game of Thrones (spoilers)

Im caught up to season 5 I believe, where John Snow shanked like a prison snitch. I burned through 3 seasons over the course of 2 weeks. I read most of the spoilers for season 6. Now I feel almost happy enough to engage in casual GoT chit chat

Re: Stranger things

I was very leery of watching another "nostalgic" kids drama set in the 80s. I didn't really like film Super 8 that much either but after hearing near universal glowing reviews, I think I'll give it a shot

Bosch

I'm watching this show now and it's very enjoyable. I'd recommend it to anyone who is into police crime drama. It's up to season 2 and available exclusively on Amazon Prime. It's based on the character Police detective Harry Bosch by Peter Connelly.

Suicide Squad reviews

Suicide Squad has long been believed to be the film that would revitalize DC's lagging box office performance after Man of Steel and Batman v Superman. However, Suicide Squad has been getting pummeled by early reviews from multiple sources as well as on Rotten Tomatoes. On Rotten Tomatoes in particu...

Re: SDCC - Trailers! Trailers! Trailers!

The rate at which Marvel is going with both the films and the Netflix series', and if the next Thor movie is any indication, it's only a matter of time before we get a Luke Cage/ Iron Fist crossover
type mini series like the old Power Man & Iron Fist comic
