Why can't you think of a witty title and why does it have to be witty?
And the fact that you named your thread after your fruitless wit is in itself somewhat witty. ;)
It needs to be witty cause it's always been witty. And everyone has a witty title!

Basically, one of our client wants monthly stats. It was supposed to be sent on a monthly basis starting in October.
I got two people to do the stats but forgot to sent them once they were done!!
Now the client is apparently threatening of breaking his contract. And of course it's our BIGGEST client.
So everybody has been on my back since my return last Monday.
I thought "oh well, no big deal, the stats are ready, I only need to send them and apologize for the delay". But of course, what do I discover? The 2 co-workers did a pretty shitty job and I had to rework most of it.
I've been piling up extra hours since Tuesday, some of them won't even being paid.

Managerial problems are the worst. If you don't delegate properly, you're screwed. I've been fortunate so far. I've only managed a few people at a time; never an entire team or department.
It's Seaguy as drawn for me on the inside cover of his artbook by Cameron Stewart.
Charged me about $20 for it and I say it was well worth it.

Artwise Darwyn Cooke, Cameron Stewart, Paul Pope, Ryan Kelly.

In some respects, being given a low level title after Runnaways kind of seems like a slap in the face.

Actually the artist of Northlanders Davide Gianfelice requested me as a friend when I tagged in various photos from NYC.
Cameron, are you paying for all expenses for me to travel to Calgary? If yes, I'll be your walking database and more.
Anyway, some updates :
- My company is starting to feel some consequences of the global crisis. The people who are on temp contract will not be renewed. The sales dept is putting a lot of pressure on us as they are renegotiating many contracts at the moment and our customers all want to downsize the prices. As a consequence, eveybody in the management is fucking tense and they put a lot of pressure on us poor team leaders. I'm very nervous when I'm there and two days ago, I sharply told off my boss (N+2). Oops.
- I've been in a very noir/crime mode lately, influenced by my comics reading (Aaron, Azz) but also by the fact that a noir book convention took place in Lyon. Jason Starr was there so I walked up to him and asked him if he was the same Jason Starr who is going to write a GN for Vertigo. And it really was him. He is very good friends with Ed Brubaker apparently and he is also going to write a Punisher one-shot with Roland Boschi handling the art. So of course, I bought 2 of his books so he could sign them to me. :D
- While we are at books, I have a lot stuff to catch up on. TPBs and novels. And still 4 or 5 seasons of different TV shows that I need to see. I have holidays at the end of May so I hope to put them to good use.
- Now that Spring is upon us, I've decided to up a little my dose of sport (I have a chocolate belly fastly enlarging and I need to beat it). So on top of my weekly football game, I'm gonna go for some joggings 2 or 3 times a week. Malorie wants me to do crunches but I don't think so.
There is probably some more stuff I wanted to tell you but that's all I can think for now.

We also found out a lot of us had this set, "Black Monarch's Castle":

Looking up all this Lego shit, I feel pretty eger to get the Lego-Technic Off Roader thing. Looks awesome. Lego = awesome moving puzzles. The thing costs quite a bit though, but looking at general Lego prices, jeez, Lego can be pricey shit!
The Lego Millenium Falcon is SO fucking amazing, BTW. The biggest Lego piece there is and it does cost €500, but shit, it rocks. If I inherit way too much money one day, that'll be on my list!

How did you manage that?
My winning charm, awesome smile, and ability to jump ques.
My comic guy in Montreal is having a convention this weekend. He invited me out with him after the con days, he is having dinner with the Allred, and probably the others as well. Hopefully including Cooke and Lou Ferrigno.

Dude, I posted that on your Facebook wall when he was sitting down.
Yeah, but I read it wrong, thought you were talking about yourself. Oops.

He couldn't find Batman/Deathblow when I went in, but he will look for it. I will also keep my eye out for it as well in Calgary.

What's the best Rucka series?
Queen & Country and Gotham Central
Wait, GC was a Rucka series? I could've sworn it was Bru/Philips. Wait... it was Lark, wasn't it?

I have no idea till I looked it up.
It was Bru and Rucka.
HOW DID I NOT READ THAT!?
Yeah, it was Brubaker and Rucka. With Lark. Damn Dutchie, you're the one who told me to read the comics, I thought you at least would have known that.
I guess we found a new title for Cameron to start looking for. You don't have any of the issues?
Also from Rucka : Checkmate from DC. He had a run on Wonder Woman and once relaunched Wolverine with Darrick Robertson (of Transmet and The Boys fame).
He also did 2 minis on Ultimate Daredevil and Elektra.

Ah, so it WAS Bru. I kinda forgot about all that. Which reminds me I need to get the TPB's, for cheap somewhere. Amazon, perhaps?
Amazon surely.
I think Rucka wrote the major bulk of the series though cause Bru left for Marvel.

Next time I am in Montreal I might get the run of checkmate from a local comic guy, he was selling it for $30.
Advice : from what I heard on the net, don't bother with the Bruce Jones issues. Just get what Rucka wrote.

Roger wilco.
Think it's just the Rucka issues.
Speaking of which: French boy, do the HC's also cover the last four issues? The sollicit for HC3 seems so odd, ending it with #36.
I'll check that out tomorrow because I'm going to bed now.
I got the regulars trades and filled the holes in NYC, getting the missing issues.

I haven't found any information about Hardcovers for Checkmate, but there is a 4th TPB which has issues 26-31 (the whole Bruce Jones "Chimera" arc). http://www.comicbookdb.com/title.php?ID=6598
Chris, we're talking Gotham Central here, not Checkmate.

Haha, I was trying to figure out what you guys were talking about and saw Checkmate. Oh well, not unusual for me to make a fool of myself ^_^
But yeah, the trades for Gotham Central skip over issues which confused/annoys me to no end. I stay away from Hardcovers so I wouldn't know if they'd have the issues or not. Judging on the fact that HC 2 has issues not present in the TPB I'd say it's a good bet HC 3 would have all issues and not skip like the TPB did.

Arn, did you ever read Gotham Central?
Yay or nay if ya did?
I did and it's a big loud "Yay"!! A really good book with great characterization, stories and art.
