Equal parts thrilled but I just hope it doesn't wind up like the WW film with studio interference causing it to shut down and/or get stuck in development hell.

Agreed. And it says he's going over an earlier draft, so while it won't (at first) be all his work, it's very reassuring for now to know that he will have heavy hand in the goings on.
