View Full Version : Count D and the Indy Forum

Mr Wallstreet

On the xsorbit board, CountD moderated the Indy Forum. If he does not wish to continue moderating it, I would like to moderate the Forum. Thank you for your time ;D

If meek? doesn't show up in time, can I have the DC board? :D

ChimeraCreative

Where the bloody blinking blooming hell is meek?

Tragic Angelus
02-15-2009, 07:55 PM
Graduating from the Jim Lee school of Internet use, apparently.

What makes you think I don't want the job?

Tragic Angelus

The Indy Board? All yours.

But I laid dibs on DC first :D

wolf_2099
02-16-2009, 01:56 AM
And Marvel?

Mr Wallstreet

What makes you think I don't want the job?

You didn't speak up. On this board of vultures, its first come first serve.

I came first and I demand to be served first.

ChimeraCreative

I left CountD a PM on the temp BX board to swing by this place. Youse two could probably co-mod if you're both salivating for control of it. ^_^

Edit... I'm inclined to agree that it's first come, first serve. I'm surprised there's some folks taking their sweet ass time to mosey on over. No meek, no Thug, no CBKA, no Bummer. O.o

Mr Wallstreet
02-16-2009, 03:39 PM
I PMed D as well a few days ago. If D is willing to share mod-ship that's cool and if he wants to mod the board by himself, that's fine by me as well. It was his board after all.

ChimeraCreative
02-16-2009, 03:47 PM
Aw, don't concede yet. In true Indy style D and yourself can fight to the death for control of the Indy forum. ^_^

Mr Wallstreet
02-16-2009, 08:30 PM
No, no. D is a gentleman and a scholar. I'll not sully his good name by challenging him to brutish combat.

wolf_2099
02-16-2009, 10:24 PM
What about dueling pistols?

Mr Wallstreet
02-17-2009, 08:45 PM
Based on my performance in first person shooter games...D would win :(

Mr Wallstreet
02-17-2009, 08:50 PM
I do believe CountD was not aware of this new board. I've PMed him the url and bumped the thread with the link for the new board.

Meek? Where the hell is Meek?

He might be working on his portofolio to bring to Wonder Con.

Between our spamming we've finally managed to secure D. ^_^

Tragic Angelus
02-20-2009, 12:12 PM
Meek? said he won't be here for awhile, that he has a few things to take care of and he'll use Facebook first, and get to the board later on.

The French Biscuit
02-20-2009, 12:19 PM
And in the meantime, Meek's asked if I could mod the Creative Cafe.

Does this sit well with the rest of you?

XIII
02-20-2009, 12:38 PM
It's the best choice I think. :)

MGM
02-20-2009, 12:52 PM
Yeah, and when he gets here you two can co-mod it.

Tragic Angelus
02-20-2009, 01:01 PM
he also handed reigns of the DC board to myself until he returned

ChimeraCreative
02-20-2009, 01:10 PM
So if we're all in agreement

Creative Cafe - Biscy and Meek
DC - Tragic and Meek
Indy - D and Wally

And maybe we should add an extra warm body to PHIYST? Any suggestions or volunteers?

Tragic Angelus
02-20-2009, 01:25 PM
If you want to add someone else to PHIYST, I'd suggest someone who's here often, like our resident Dutchman

XIII
02-20-2009, 02:23 PM
Argh, don't let the Dutch in charge of anything!

wolf_2099
02-20-2009, 02:52 PM
Sigh. Why do I never get to moderate anything?

MGM
02-20-2009, 03:12 PM
Apply! What'd you want anyway?

Also, while I'm around a lot at the moment, I can't say for sure I will be around a lot in the future. I also don't read every topic in the PHIYST forum. Well, now I do, but at the old BX I hardly did and I doubt I will in the future when more people arrive.

wolf_2099

I'd probably be good for Marvel, Indy, or the movie/book forum, as I have the most interests in those and could generate the most threads.

The French Biscuit
02-20-2009, 03:41 PM
It's the best choice I think. :)

Merci much. :D

The French Biscuit
02-20-2009, 03:42 PM
Yeah, and when he gets here you two can co-mod it.

I'm down with this plan. It guarantees that at least one of us will be around at any given time.

MGM

I don't mind a co-mod. I'm more into music, so given you're more into movies, this could work out pretty well.

wolf_2099
02-20-2009, 06:59 PM
Although, I should ask. what do mod's even do for our boards now?
Just try and generate conversation and threads?

MGM
02-21-2009, 02:35 AM
Pretty much that. It's not like we need heavy moderation here.

CountD
02-21-2009, 06:20 AM
I've been wanting to relinquish my duties for a while.

I'll step aside if the change hasn't been ok'd yet....

XIII
02-21-2009, 09:47 AM
I must say that as a mod, I do mostly nothing. Jim Lee would be proud.

Tragic Angelus
02-21-2009, 04:56 PM
No, you said you do mostly nothing. That means you're still doing more than he does.

William McDert
02-21-2009, 08:42 PM
I also want the Indie forum, but just for the anime/manga :P

XIII
02-22-2009, 05:16 AM
Maybe we should make an Anime/manga forum and have it apart from the Indie forum?

ChimeraCreative
02-22-2009, 08:01 AM
Adam was initially surprised that Manga/Anime wasn't a separate forum, but when I told him there's about five people tops that care deeply care about manga, he understood. Although he did point out that's like 25% of our board's population, which is a significant number. That magnificent bastard. ^_^

Mr Wallstreet
02-22-2009, 01:32 PM
I've been wanting to relinquish my duties for a while.

I'll step aside if the change hasn't been ok'd yet....

Okeydokey. But remember, you're welcome back anytime

I also want the Indie forum, but just for the anime/manga :P

With D on a sabbatical, I don't mind co-modding the Indy forum with McDert. However, there appears to be discussion about separating the Anime/Manga from the Indy forum. What is the final decision for that?

ChimeraCreative
02-22-2009, 01:41 PM
I dunno, who makes the final decision? ^_^

I'd personally vote against it because of lack of interest and it'll be downed like a wounded gazelle by post-whoring wolves. But on the flip side, we might give some members that don't post quite as much (my sister and Python for example) a place to frolic unfettered.

William McDert
02-22-2009, 09:44 PM
LET US FROLIC BY GOD

XIII
02-23-2009, 12:54 AM
I swear that if you set up an Anime/Manga forum, I won't go there. I won't postwhore there. I'll stay away from for as long as I can et frolic in the manga-free Indy forum.

The French Biscuit
02-24-2009, 12:14 PM
Yeah, I concur with the Anime/manga separation party.

Some people really don't like it, and we're kinda being a thorn in their side by sharing space with the indy crowd. :sweatdrop:

MGM
02-24-2009, 02:45 PM
Nah, you're not really a thorn in our side, we just like messin' with you. http://i.fokzine.net/s/wink.gif

Stocky Boy
02-24-2009, 03:17 PM
I say make them separate. It's just another forum. As long as we don't start making separate forums for "Marvel News" and "DC News" and "General Comics News" we won't be overstretching the number of useful, populated forums and making it difficult to decide where to post things.

Separate forum for Manga/Anime and Indie books!

Mr Wallstreet
02-24-2009, 03:57 PM
I rather like having the Anime and Indy forums together. I'm not into Anime at all but I do like to check into the threads from time to time and see whats what.

Stocky Boy
02-24-2009, 04:10 PM
Dude, if that was a valid argument, then there would only be one forum. :)

Seperate! You like it, but Arn and Cam are no fans. Biscy, Meek and Kid could then have a unique little playhouse all to themselves to leave the big grown ups like me, Cam, D, some other dude - Wall something? - and Arn to discuss indie books.

MGM
02-24-2009, 04:17 PM
I'm afraid we'll get too many forums with little topics.

Makes sense. No reason you can't pop down one to see Anime, that way we don't sift through the anime posts.

It isn't a huge deal either way to me, though.

02-24-2009, 08:26 PM

books.

You're getting a little full of yourself aren't you? ;)

Like I said, I like having Anime with Indy but its not something I passionately want to fight for so I'm cool with separating them. :)

Tragic Angelus
02-25-2009, 12:31 PM
I really don't see the problem with seperating it. I mean, so what if the seperated forums have little posts? I mean it's our board and we use it when we want, how we want.

Personally, I never was a fan of seeing the Indie/Anime with new posts/threads, only to find out they were almost always Anime/Manga stuff, and like Arn and Cam, I can't stand the stuff.

Also, if you're planning on bringing more people into the board over time, having them seperated now will be a big help rather than when there are soooo many threads and topics that it becomes harder and more work to do later on when we eventually decide to do it.

Stocky Boy

Ed makes good points!

CountD
02-26-2009, 12:11 PM
Keep it one board: 4 mods: Kid, Wall, Ty, and Bisc

CountD
02-26-2009, 12:12 PM
ignore the thredz you don't like

Tragic Angelus
02-26-2009, 02:53 PM
Ed makes good points!

Thank you sir. :)

And I mean, normally I do ignore threads I don't want to pay attention to, but in the old board it was almost nothing BUT Anime/Manga, with a few Indie threads tossed in, so searching for them or rooting around to get to them got annoying.

Like I said, it's our board. there's no reason we can't have boards we want, right?

ChimeraCreative
02-28-2009, 08:03 AM
Wally can pick a co-mod if he wants one. Or we can wait to see if D wants to get back on board with the Indy forum.

MGM, do you think Fash would like to join you in Mind Candy? Or conversely, Fash, do you want to join MGM in Mind Candy? ^_^

MGM
02-28-2009, 09:32 AM
Er... I think Wulf clearly mentioned he'd not dislike the Mind Candy. I haveno trouble with either of them, but he was first.

ChimeraCreative
02-28-2009, 02:24 PM
Oh, cool beans. I plum forgot who was interested in what (clearly). I don't know how anyone can mod Mind Candy in the first place. What's a movie? ^_^

I'll mod the Indy forum myself for now but if anyone wants to co-mod with me, they are more than welcome.
