Oh deary, deary me. How many people falsely believed that John Cassaday, whose art looks nothing like Sean Chen's believed the following piece of work - the first attachment - was done by John Cassaday?
Because I knew you were wrong... and so did Sean Chen, who signed the issue that HIS work first appeared in - second attachment. :D:cool::)

Yeah, that's definitely a Sean Chen piece. Looks real good too. I normally find his work a little bland, except his old Iron Man stuff.

Where the fuck were you all those years ago?! You would have been the only person to agree with me.
Sean Chen was likely just humoring you. :D

Of course. It's not that everyone else was obviously blind and haven't got eyes that can see the difference between two completey different artists' work - is it? ;)

God I love that picture of me. I'm so smug and happy. ;)

You look kind of strung out on comics.
I think you guys may have experienced the closest thing to the fanboy equivalent of a drug overdose that a comic geek can. :D

He was foaming at the mouth and shaking, too. Withdrawls are a bitch.

I think Chen's had enough of me. I'm fully expecting a look of disbelief and quiet annoyance from him, if I appear again next time. :D

Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons wants to hire you. :D

Didn't I agree with you? :p Ah well, lost to time now.

It's only now I have just figured out what the hell you've been ranting about for a year.

That definitely looks too...off...to be a Cassaday piece. Don't know why I feel that way, its just...weird. Good art, but definitely not Cassaday...

It's just the inking I think that does it.

The inking! The fucking inking! Come off of it! :D
Cassaday draws people in proportion. That pic of Wolverine is classically over the top muscley. There's the big clue it's not Cassaday.
Oh by the way, Fash, not sure how 'thinly veiled' this thread was, but it was obviously directed at you, mostly. :D:p Arn as well, I'm pretty sure was all convinced it was Cassaday.

The inking reminded of Cassaday, on X-Men and Planetary, sue me.
It's not like either of them are bad artists.
It's the coloring. That's definitely Laura Martin. Now, Andy, why don't you go ask your friend who colored the piece? :D

By inking I meant coloring. Whoops.
Sorry.
Stocky Boy
02-16-2009, 01:27 PM
Arn, I really couldn't give a crap who coloured it. :D
Nah, if it's Laura Martin that's cool. She's like the only colourist I know and she really is good.

What else has she done?
Stocky Boy

Astonishing X.Men and I wouldn't be too surprised to find out if she's regularly the colourist for Cassaday.

Considering the looks of X-Men and Lone Ranger covers I wouldn't be surprised. I wonder if she's done anything other than for him.
Anyone know if Cassaday has another monthly series going or coming up?
I hear they're reprinting I am Legion.
Did you like "I am Legion"? I got the first volume and wasn't too excited by it. Never got the remaining two.
And yeah, Laura Martin has colored just about everything Cassaday has done I think.
I only have the first volume, which was okay, but not spectacular.
And by volume, I mean the trade DC printed a while back.
Booo!! Didn't you Dutchies have this in regular European format?
Probably, but I'd never herad of it until I ran into the DC trade.

Really? I'm sure I would have guessed Sean Chen for this. I know Chen and don't know Cassaday. I think everyone decided it was Cassaday because he was credited for it on a website somewhere.

Which is Andy and which is Sean. Am I the only one who thinks they could be related? Maybe John Cassidy is the third Stockers brother, which is where the confusion set in. I'm not funny when I'm drunk.

No. Everybody thought it was Cassaday because of the coloring.

It could have been both. When I originally posted the image, it came from PoCultureShock and those numpties credited it to Cassaday.
Surely it's worse if you think Laura Martin on colours automatically means Cssaday on pencils. :D
... but is it Laura Martin?
Incidently, Chen told me that it wasn't him or Cassaday who came up with the costume design. It was some specifically hired concept artist. Now I want to ask Bianchi if the costume desins on his Astonishing were his. I think they were, since there's a preview issue with what I take to be his commentary over a load of concept art.
